Last month we ran into a money crunch. We were looking over our spending and realized that we were in over our heads. Even though my husband brings home good money, we found ourselves struggling to make ends meet. When you don’t have much room in your budget, you have great taste and you have a heart to pour out to others things can get really tight. Honestly we went overboard. God has blessed us with so much, but we were not being good stewards of his blessings.
We got frustrated and felt like we maybe we should sell some of our possessions or refinance our loans…trying to fix it ourselves. Push came to shove and we decided to give it to God. We realized who our provider was. It’s not our jobs, or careers. We had to stop for a minute to realize that it was only God who had brought us this far. I told Jerome one day “We are not selling anything or giving up our cars. God got this. We are always on the top, never on the bottom. We are the head and not the tail, above and not beneath.” I said it jokingly, but I was believing God for something Greater. Jerome laughed and said “something has to change.”
Within a few days I got a call from a friend asking me to babysit her daughter while she worked. Immediately I said no, but I was like well maybe this is God’s answer to our prayers. Before I knew it I was taking care of her for two weeks. Cha Ching! Then the phone rang again I got asked to do a focus group for a kitchen product. I brought in over $600 in 2 weeks doing nothing but babysitting and talking about foil.
That was nothing but God!! When I tell you he is a provider. God will make a way out of no way. Of course it won’t always fall out of the sky, you might have to do a little work for it, but his hand is faithful! I also got a letter about a possible position that could be available to me soon. I cannot wait to see how God will continue to blow our minds this year! We are working on our discipline in our finances and physical health. As God is shaping us he is manifesting his promises. Watch him work!
God always makes a way!
Song on my heart:
